2004 Lakeland Swim Conference Championships

at Fayson Lakes

Papendick brothers claim three LSC records Pequannock retained its crown while the Papendick brother of Fayson Lakes established three championship records at the 2004 Lakeland Swim Conference contested from Thursday through Saturday. Fayson Lakes, the host team, finished fifth in the 14-team field. Luke Papendick dominated the 9 & 10-year old boys' age division. He was fastest to the finish in the boys 10 & under 50-meter butterfly, touching in 33.25 as he smashed the old mark of 34.68 set in 1993 by Chris Cooper who swam for the Lake Mohawk Cruiser Club. In the boys 9 & 10 50-meter freestyle, he was clocked in 30.81 seconds as he erased the clocking of 32.66 seconds set in 1993 by his older brother Steve who now coaches Fayson Lakes.   For story and complete results, click here Adam Papenick of Fayson Lakes was fastest to the finish wall in the 15 to 18-year old boys' 100-meter freestyle, setting a new record of 56.22 seconds.
